We will begin drawing names on Wednesday, March 26th. The first name drawn will have the first pick, with subsequent winners choosing in the order drawn until all bottles are claimed. Winners will be contacted by phone; if there’s no answer, we’ll leave a voicemail. You’ll have two hours to return our call, or your chance to select a bottle will be forfeited. As we mentioned a few months back, following the live lottery on February 2nd—once all bottles were claimed—we promised to share updates on how we distribute allocated bottles. We will return to a monthly and/or quarterly purchase raffle system, similar to what we did a few years ago.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬: The rules are straightforward. If you’re interested in any bottles included in a purchase raffle, you’ll need to sign up each time we announce a new raffle—your information won’t carry over to the next drawing. No need to keep track of a ticket; we’ll contact you using the phone number provided on your raffle form. Please write legibly and ensure all fields on the form are fully completed— incomplete entries will be disqualified. You’re limited to one entry per raffle, and any duplicates will be discarded. By participating, you agree that we may display the winner’s first name, last initial, and county of residence in-store for transparency. The first name drawn selects their bottle of choice, followed by the second name drawn, and this continues in order until all bottles have been claimed.

Our process will be very similar to the Albemarle ABC Board. Beyond the purchase raffles, we’ll continue to place allocated bottles on the shelf at random days and times and host larger, spontaneous “drops” based on availability. This means you could win a bottle through the raffle, snag one from the shelf, or score something from a bigger drop. The trade-off? We’re phasing out the annual big lottery—good news or bad news, depending on your perspective. Our aim is to move inventory more quickly, increase your chances of getting allocated bottles, and reduce hoarding. This should also help North Carolina secure more allocated bottles overall.
